Delight Roach Justice
Serving as President of Justice Insurance Agency, Inc., Delight is committed to a long legacy of serving her hometown community as an insurance agent. With over twenty one years of experience in the insurance industry as an agency principal and producer in both personal and commercial lines, Delight takes pride in managing a talented staff of well-trained agents who provide excellent customer service and being a valued partner to insurance companies within the industry. Being the grand-daughter of the late Ann Gibson, former owner of the Ann Gibson Insurance Agency, Inc. since 1964, Delight was raised and trained in the family owned and operated independent insurance agency where she learned the value of trusted personal relationships and superior customer service.
Delight Roach Justice holds a Bachelor of Science (’91) and Master of Science (’94) degree in Communication Studies from Texas Christian University. Over the last several years she remains connected to the academic community and has enjoyed coursework at the University of North Texas, University of Texas – Arlington, and Texas Christian University (for doctoral level credit and audit) in Environmental Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Education, and Communication Studies with research focused on writing and rhetoric pertaining to ecology, language, and sense of place.
Delight is founder and director of the Center For Western Cross Timbers Studies (CWCTS), a non-profit organization. While rooted in conservation and educational efforts within the Cross Timbers, specifically in the Barnett Shale region, her outreach extends internationally to Ukraine and the Yucatan Peninsula. Delight has been part of a research team of ecologists who visited Yaxunah, Yucatan, Mexico in order to develop a "Sense of Place" curriculum for indigenous peoples focusing on traditional ecological knowledge to aid in preserving ancient ways and customs for future generations.
Delight is a founding individual and organizational member of the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) and is a member of the Western States Communication Association. Delight is a charter member of Sigma Pi Chi, communication honor society at TCU, which integrated with the National Communication Association’s communication studies honor society, Lambda Pi Eta.
She proudly represents TCU as a member of the Alumni Student Recruitment Council, the Britain Society and Clark Society. Delight is also a charter member of the Iota Lambda chapter of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and currently serves as the chapter’s Finance Advisor.
As a Rotarian, and proud member of the Burleson Area Midday Rotary Club, Delight’s lifetime commitment to a deeper understanding of global culture and place, earth stewardship and sustainable action is paramount on her mind as she enjoyed a two year term as International Service Chair while serving on the Board of Directors. Current international projects include writing a Rotary International matching grant and raising funds to purchase a laparoscopy set for the benefit of the Ivano-Frankivsk Rotary Club in Ukraine. Delight and her husband Brooke have hosted Open World exchange delegates from Ukraine, Group Study Exchange participants from Australia, and a Rotary Youth Exchange student from Tours, France.
She is a lifetime member of the National Horned Lizard Conservation Society and American Quarter Horse Association. Other professional memberships include the Texas Folklore Society, Texas State Historical Society, and Santa Gertrudis Breeders International.
Delight also plays an active role in raising horses and breeding purebred Santa Gertrudis cattle with her husband, children, and grand-daughter at the family ranch, Cross Timbers Farm. Cowboy and Keela, the working cattle dogs of the ranch, are her pride and joy!
